Twistees goes Christmas! One of Malta’s favourite snacks gets a festive twist
From cheese to cinnamon!

Francesca Vella

When visitors arrive in the Maltese Islands, Twistees is often one of the first snacks they’re encouraged to try, alongside typical treats like pastizzi and imqaret. This beloved crunchy, rice-based snack has been a local favourite since its creation in 1969. Over the years, its popularity has extended beyond Malta’s shores, with Twistees now exported to countries like the UK and Germany.

The original Cheesy Twistees remain the most iconic flavour, but the range has expanded to include Smokey Barbecue Twistees, Twistees Lite, and Chicken Twistees. This holiday season, however, brings an exciting twist - a brand-new, sweet cinnamon flavour!

This unique addition to the typically savoury lineup is sure to spark curiosity and debate among fans, offering a festive take on a Maltese classic. Will it become a seasonal favourite? Time will tell!

What do you think of this version of Twistees?
