Tourism boom! Malta welcomes over 260,000 tourists in November 2024

Tourism in Malta continues to thrive, with November 2024 marking a significant milestone.

According to the National Statistics Office, inbound tourists for the month totalled 262,896 - a significant 20.7% increase compared to November 2023. This surge in visitors also translated into a boost for the local economy, with total expenditure surpassing €241 million.

During November, tourists spent 1,708,769 nights in Malta, with 89.8% of these nights being in rented accommodation establishments, reaffirming the importance of Malta’s hospitality sector.

Cumulatively, the numbers for 2024 are even more impressive. From January to November, Malta welcomed 3,371,249 tourists who spent nearly 21.7 million nights on the islands. Total tourism expenditure for this period reached an estimated €3.2 billion, with an average expenditure of €935 per visitor.

With sustained investment in the tourism sector, Malta is well-positioned for continued success in the coming years.
