The Maltese ħobża is absolutely delicious.

In a recently shared article written by the American media house, CNN about the world’s best bread, Malta’s traditional ħobża was listed in the prestigious list.

The breads listed on the article, ‘50 of the world’s best breads’ were chosen “for their unique ingredients, iconic status and the sheer, homey pleasure of eating them”.

Thus, it comes as no surprise that the ħobża was listed among them.

CNN described Maltese bread as having a “tawny crust” that “gives way to a pillow-soft interior, ideal for rubbing with a fresh tomato or soaking up the islands’ prized olive oils”.

Some other breads included are the baguettes from France, the Italian Ciabatta, the Tortilla from Mexico and many others from all four corners of the world!
