It has been announced that Mario Delicata, director at Delicata Wines and the eldest son of George Delicata, the Chairman of the Group, has sadly passed away at the age of 48.

In a heartfelt tribute from Delicata Winery, Mario Delicata was remembered as a devoted steward of the family business, ‘His commitment to the Maltese wine sector and community will be profoundly missed.’

The announcement has been met with an outpouring of condolences, with many reflecting on his vision and leadership that ‘left an indelible mark on all who knew him’, emphasising that his legacy will continue through those he inspired.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday 31st October at 8.30 AM at Balzan Parish Church, and the winery will be closed on the day. Nevertheless, Delicata Winery will carry on his dedication and passion for the craft through his brothers, Michael and Matthew.
