"The current situation is not one to be taken lightly" - Roads in Malta & Gozo are flooded once again
Malta and Gozo are currently experiencing a massive thunderstorm that - to no one's surprise, really - has caused massive flooding in certain roads around the islands.
Maltese Islands Weather Facebook page are warning that "the current situation is not one to be taken lightly." They've also noted that all localities around the islands have exceeded the 50mm mark and recommends to "avoid all low-lying areas."
A foreigner took the Expats Facebook group sharing a warning not to pass near the Gzira park, as it is utterly flooded. The person shared a photo of the area, also noting that there is a scooter floating around in the street.

Gozo has also been hit pretty hard, with a stream of rain water flowing down the Xlendi Hill. The water is also carrying tree debris which has been collected as the water runs down. In the video, a local can be heard saying, "I've never seen something like this in Malta!" Gozo's situation is pretty bad...
Local weather site Aggornament tat-Temp also warned against today's weather which could possibly result in flooding (as it has) and has also warned everyone to be careful when out and about.
If you're driving today, avoid areas that are known to collect large amounts of water such as Msida junction, Valley Road Birkirkara, Bir id-Deheb, Gzira and the like. Stay safe out there!
