The Maltese Islands were selected as one of the 190 destinations to be featured at the ongoing ITB Berlin, the world’s largest travel fair, bringing a taste of Mediterranean magic to the German capital!

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg joined forces with the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) to showcase everything our sunny islands have to offer. Alongside the other destinations on display, Malta's pavilion gathered over 30 local hotels, travel agencies, and tourism businesses under one roof.

This year, Gozo took a prominent spot, as the Malta Tourism Authority, the Gozo Tourism Association, and the Gozo Ministry teamed up to tell of the island’s charm. The sister island is proving to be the perfect getaway for travellers looking to slow down and soak in an authentic Mediterranean lifestyle, from the countryside to the divine tastes the traditional food offers.

Malta’s participation at ITB Berlin wasn’t just about promoting sun, sea, and history, but also provided a chance to push for a more sustainable and responsible tourism industry. The focus was on ensuring that tourism benefits both visitors and locals by implementing higher quality standards and green initiatives.

For the art and culture lovers, Heritage Malta helped put a spotlight on the Malta Biennale, which made quite a splash in 2024 and will be returning in 2026. This global arts event promises to add yet another dimension to Malta’s rich cultural landscape.

Which is your favourite tourist spot on the islands?
