The unstable weather across the island over the past few days has left some swell in the seas, causing quite a bit of disruption in sea travel. In fact, Virtu Ferries has announced that two of the trips scheduled for the evening of Friday 20th December will be cancelled due to rough seas expected.

The cancelled trips are those previously scheduled to depart from Malta at 6 PM, and that planned to depart from Pozzallo at 9.30 PM. Two extra trips will be added tomorrow, Thursday 19th December, one departing from Pozzallo at 10 AM and another departing from Malta at 3.30 PM. Other trips scheduled for tomorrow will continue as planned.

Virtu Ferries have advised travellers that the sea conditions forecast for the weekend don’t seem favourable either – so if you plan on travelling by sea over the weekend, make sure to keep updated via their Facebook page.

Are you planning any trips to Sicily this week?
