If you’ve been planning a long weekend to Gozo and taking the next public holiday as your sign to go, take note! Passengers travelling between Gozo and Valletta are advised to plan ahead on Tuesday, 31st March, as Gozo Highspeed has announced a temporary port closure due to the National Regatta.

Operations at Valletta Port will be suspended for several hours to accommodate the traditional maritime event, which attracts both participants and spectators. The last scheduled trips before the closure will depart at 09:45 from both Gozo and Valletta, arriving at 10:30.

During the closure period, no ferry services will operate between the islands, which may impact commuters, tourists, and daily travellers relying on the fast ferry connection. However, normal service is set to resume later in the day, with departures restarting at 18:45 from both ports.

Travellers are encouraged to adjust their schedules accordingly and allow extra time for their journeys to avoid inconvenience on the day.
