Take note! Traffic restrictions and road closures this Sunday for La Valette Marathon

Transport Malta has issued an important notice regarding the La Valette Marathon, which is set to take place on Sunday 23rd March. The marathon will run along the route between Manikata and Birgu Waterfront, with the event starting at 6.30am and concluding at 12.30pm.

To ensure the safety of participants and the smooth running of the event, 55 officers and 7 motorcycles will be deployed along the marathon route. Motorists and residents should be aware that there will be traffic restrictions in place throughout the duration of the marathon.

Transport Malta has urged the public to plan their journeys accordingly and to cooperate with officials managing traffic on the day.

The La Valette Marathon is an important sporting event that attracts local and international runners, showcasing Malta’s scenic routes and historic landmarks. As preparations are underway, drivers are encouraged to stay informed about the affected areas and consider alternative routes where necessary.
