Take note! Temporary road closures in Msida and Ta' Xbiex tonight and Sunday morning
Heads up, drivers!

Francesca Vella

If you're passing through the Msida and Gżira areas this weekend, take note of these important road closures.

Tonight (Friday 7th March) from 8 PM till 6 AM tomorrow morning, the southbound carriageway of Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, direction from Msida towards Valletta will be closed for the laying of underground high-voltage cables.

If you’re travelling from Gzira or Kappara towards Valletta, it’s advised use Regional Road via Msida Valley as an alternative route. Just be cautious if it's still raining, as the valley tends to flood.

Also, on Sunday 9th March, Transport Malta has announced that between 7 AM and 8.30 AM, Triq ix-Xatt in Ta’ Xbiex will be closed for a marathon – drivers are advised to avoid the area at those times if possible, and to follow road diversions and instructions of traffic officers in place on the day.

Plan your journeys accordingly to avoid delays!
