Take note! Gozo Highspeed and Virtu Ferries cancel all trips for tomorrow due to severe weather expected
Tomorrow's conditions will be far from ideal for sea travel

Weather warnings are in full swing for both heavy rainfall and gale-force winds forecasted for tomorrow, with gusts expected to reach Force 8 or even 9. Unsurprisingly, ferry services across the islands are already being cancelled in anticipation of extremely rough seas.

Virtu Ferries, which operates between Malta and Sicily, announced earlier this morning that all trips scheduled for tomorrow are cancelled. Shortly after, Gozo Highspeed, which runs between Valletta and Mgarr, also suspended its services for tomorrow.

As for Valletta Ferry Services, connecting Sliema and the Three Cities to the capital city, no official cancellations have been announced yet, though comments on social media suggest this is likely. Meanwhile, the Gozo Channel, known for braving tough conditions, has not made an announcement yet, but delays are likely due to route adjustments often taken during rough seas.

If you’re planning sea travel tomorrow, it’s best to check the services' social media pages for updates and expect potential disruptions.

Stay safe!
