Ferry services connecting Malta and Gozo are set to operate later into the evening as part of an extension announced by the Ministry for Sustainable Mobility.

The measure will apply to both ferry services linking Valletta with Sliema and Cospicua, as well as the Fast Ferry services connecting Valletta, Sliema and Buġibba with Mġarr, Gozo.

The extended schedule is intended to give passengers greater flexibility to use the ferry later in the day, while encouraging public transport as a convenient and efficient alternative to private cars.

The new schedule will remain in place until 31 October 2026, when the summer timetable ends. The new winter schedule will also introduce additional journeys to better meet passenger demand.

Under the extension, three additional trips will be added to each harbour ferry service, while two additional trips will be added to each Fast Ferry service departing from Valletta, Sliema and Buġibba.

The ferry network forms part of the Government’s Malta in Motion plan, which aims to create a more integrated transport system by connecting different modes, including Tallinja, and making multi-modal journeys easier for passengers.
