Support local traditions and artists! Here’s a list of the presepji exhibitions in Malta & Gozo
One of Malta’s many local and unique traditions is that of the building and exhibiting of nativity cribs, otherwise known as presepji in Maltese.
Many Maltese presepji enthusiasts across Malta and Gozo spend months preparing and meticulously building unique and beautiful cribs for everyone to see at exhibitions.
This is an annual tradition that dates back decades. This year is no different, with many artists opening up exhibitions and inviting visitors to come and celebrate Christmas with them through this traditional art form.
Many locals and tourists alike choose to dedicate a day during the Christmas period to drive around, hopping from one exhibition to another in order to admire the presepji.
To facilitate your presepju-hop, we have gathered a list of the many presepji exhibitions around Malta and Gozo that you can visit.
Most exhibitions are free but visitors are encouraged to leave the artists a small tip, as a token of their incredible work.
