Summer, where are you? Majority of Malta and Gozo’s beaches marked as unsafe for swimming
Thankfully there are still a handful of beaches for a safe swim.

We’re now well into June yet Malta and Gozo still cannot seem to fully welcome summer weather just yet.

In fact, the majority of the islands’ beaches have been determined as dangerous to swim in by ‘Maltese Islands Weather’ due to either strong currents or jellyfish infestations.

The unsafe beaches include Marfa Ramla l-Bir, Little Armier, Armier Bay, Mellieħa, Imġiebaħ, Mistra Bay, St. Paul's Bay, Qawra, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, St. George's Bay, Sliema, Wied iż-Żurrieq, Għar Lapsi, Fomm ir-Riħ, Ġnejna Bay, Għajn Tuffieħa, Golden Bay, Anchor Bay, Paradise Bay, Wied il-Għasri, Xwejni Bay, Qbajjar, Marsalforn, Ramla l-Ħamra, San Blas Bay, Daħlet Qorrot, Xlendi, Dwejra, Dwejra Inland Sea.

However, thankfully there are still a handful of beaches that one can visit to enjoy a relaxing swim. Such beaches are Rinella Bay, Marsaskala, St. Thomas Bay, Ħofriet, Marsaxlokk, Pretty Bay, Ħondoq ir-Rummien, Mġarr ix-Xini.

The list might change through the coming days so click here to keep yourself updated.
