Local weather page ‘Maltese Islands Weather’ has taken to social media to issue a strong wind warning for the upcoming days.

The warning is valid from today Friday, 22nd December till mid-day of Sunday, 24th December (Christmas Eve).

However, the “wind will be strongest throughout Friday” and “will reach force 7 to 8 at times”.

Nonetheless, on both Saturday and Sunday Malta should still be expecting wind that will reach force six to seven at times.

One should also be extremely careful of the sea as today waves are predicted to reach as high as 7.5metres. The sea will still be rough on both Saturday and Sunday.

The wind will calm down significantly by Christmas Day, as force four to five winds are forecasted.
