Stay strong Nigel! Another entangled turtle saved from fishing line at Blue Lagoon
Nigel was not the turtle that they were initially searching for at Comino.

Recently, the Wildlife Rescue Team Malta’s Facebook page announced that another turtle was rescued after being found with a fishing line ingested and its flippers entangled.

The turtle was spotted by a charter boat at Blue Lagoon, which immediately recognised the turtle was in distress.

The 420 Boat Charters crew quickly reached out to Wildlife Rescue Team Malta. Despite not being the turtle they were initially searching for at Comino, they successfully rescued the animal.

The turtle, named Nigel, was then taken to Xrobb L-Għaġin Nature Park and Wildlife Rehab Centre for care.

Nigel is currently undergoing a series of assessments, and the rescue team encourages anyone who sees endangered animals in similar situations to contact them.

Go Nigel! We’re rooting for you!
