Spellbound! Anthony Horowitz announced as special guest at this year’s Malta Book Festival
Well-known authors who previously participated in this festival include Sir Salman Rushdie, Irvine Welsh and John Boyne
Bestselling author Anthony Horowitz is the first special guest announced for this year’s edition of the Malta Book Festival, taking place between the 6th and 10th November.
The novelist is best known for his works for children and young adults, particularly the Alex Rider series that includes Stormbreaker, which was made into a feature film. He is also very popular in the crime and mystery genres of adult fiction, including his contributions to the Sherlock Holmes and James Bond series.
Anthony Horowitz has also become known for his work in screenwriting, having created successful television dramas, including 'Midsomer Murders' and the award-winning series 'Foyles War'.
The Malta Book Festival is the biggest annual literary event in Malta, gathering around 50,000 attendees every year, as well as 50 exhibitor stands for publishers and authors alike. The festival, aside from encouraging the love of reading in people of all ages, also offers various opportunities for networking with those in the industry.
The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Binding Worlds’, translated in Maltese to 'Dinjiet Jirrimaw', intended to unite readers from all walks of life.
