Malta International Airport saw a whopping total of 983,182 passengers last month, making August 2024 the airport’s busiest month on record!

Summer travellers kept the passenger volumes rising steadily throughout the month, seeing an overall increase of 11.9% from August 2023. The busiest day was the 8th of August, with an incredible 34,771 passengers arriving and departing on that day.

Italy and the United Kingdom continue to lead in passenger traffic, accounting for nearly 45% of total movements. They are followed by Germany, France, and Spain, rounding out the top five markets.

As schools all over Europe begin in September, there’s likely to be a dip in travellers this month, but it’s clear that Malta’s become one hot travel spot!
