Sleigh from the sea! Zibel Malta’s volunteers lift 356kg submerged boat from the water
One last clean-up before Christmas!

Lyndsey Grima

Just before Christmas, Zibel made a remarkable discovery - a 356kg submerged boat, which they playfully dubbed their ‘sleigh from the sea.’ This wasn’t your typical holiday delivery; it was a massive effort that showcased the power of teamwork and community spirit.

With the holiday season approaching, Zibel’s dedicated team of ‘land helpers’ and strong ‘ocean warriors’ came together for an extraordinary mission. The boat, which had been sitting at the bottom of the sea, needed to be carefully lifted, dragged, and carried to safety. Despite the challenges, the team worked in unison to haul this massive ‘gift’ out of the water and into their Zibel skip.

The operation wasn’t an easy feat, but thanks to the teamwork and determination of all involved, the boat was successfully removed. Zibel expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped with the clean-up, making this a true community effort.

The clean-up highlights the importance of preserving Malta’s beautiful seas, and this unique find serves as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done.

Well done, Zibel team!
