Malta stood against Norway in the final of the FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries 2024 yesterday in Kosovo. The local team took second place in the tournament, as the result of the match saw Norway triumph with a score of 61-54.

Although Norway was the predicted favourite to win this tournament, the Malta team put up a good fight throughout yesterday’s match, holding a five-point advantage at half-time.

The local women’s basketball team achieved the silver position under the guidance of coach Charles Bonnici, with top scorer Amber Melgoza hitting 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Steffi De Martino contributing 12 points.

Well done Malta team!
