Service update! Gozo Channel, Gozo Highspeed and Three Cities ferry resume normal operations, but Sliema service remains suspended due to swell
Today's mild weather brings some calmer seas

Francesca Vella

Yesterday proved challenging for sea travel, as all ferry services from Valletta were suspended due to the swell generated by strong northeastern ‘grigal’ winds. Thankfully, today’s calmer weather has allowed the Gozo Highspeed ferry, operating between Valletta and Mgarr, to resume service this morning. The first departure from Valletta will be at 9:45 AM, and the first trip from Mgarr at 10:45 AM.

The Gozo Channel ferry, which had to operate from the South Quay yesterday due to rough seas, is now back to its regular route between Cirkewwa and Mgarr Harbour in Gozo.

Passengers will be happy to note that the ferry connecting Valletta to the Three Cities has also resumed service. However, the Sliema ferry remains suspended, likely because Marsamxett Harbour is more exposed to the northeasterly winds and resulting swell.

For the latest updates on the Sliema ferry, keep an eye on the Valletta Ferry Services Facebook page throughout the day.
