If you noticed quite a bit of activity at the Valletta Waterfront in the past year, you weren't imagining!

Malta hit a new milestone in 2024 with a record-breaking number of cruise passengers visiting the island, beating the pre-pandemic high of 2019. Over 940,000 passengers passed through Valletta Cruise Port, marking a 4% increase compared to 2019's numbers.

In the past year, the Grand Harbour played host to 357 cruise ship visits, keeping things buzzing with activity. The cruise industry is a big deal for Malta’s economy, giving a boost to shipping services, local shops, restaurants, and other tourism businesses in Valletta and around the Grand Harbour area, as well as the other localities connected to Valletta via ferry - the Three Cities, Sliema and Gozo.

Did you hop onto any cruises last year?
