Scorching summer kickoff! Friday to hit a sizzling 37 degrees to welcome the new season
Don’t forget to stay hydrated during these hot summer days

Francesca Vella

We’re already in our second heatwave of the year and summer hasn’t even officially started yet! Temperatures will reach a peak at 37°C this week on Friday, but it should cool down slowly over the weekend, with the maximum temperature reaching an average of 31°C at the beginning of next week.

However, The Maltese Islands Weather page warns that the sweltering heat won’t stop there. A number of heat waves are predicted to be hitting the island this summer, with the next one forecasted as soon as the first week of July.

During these particularly warm periods, everyone is advised to drink lots of water all throughout the day, while avoiding direct exposure to the sun during the peak hours and wearing a hat and sunblock whenever possible.

Enjoy the sun safely!
