Say what?! The temperature in Malta’s hottest month will climb a whopping 3.5°C in 30 years
Malta’s climate in 2050 will be as hot as Tel Aviv’s right now!

According to recent research conducted by Crowther Lab in Switzerland, Malta’s climate is expected to spike over the coming years, becoming as hot as Tel Aviv is right now in 30 years’ time. Bis-serjeta? Mela!

Climate change is real, people! Here’s what Malta’s climate will be like come 2050:

1. Increase in annual temperature: 1.7°C

2. Increase in temperature of warmest month: 3.5°C

3. Increase in temperature of coldest month: 2.4°C

We could barely handle the recent heatwave, let alone an overall increase in temperature! We don’t even want to know what a heatwave in 2050 will be like. #MadonnaMadonnaNo

The overall results

The brains behind this research are stating that “77 per cent of the cities around the world will experience a striking change of climate conditions, with 22 per cent encountering conditions that currently don’t exist.” Damn. Now that’s a wake-up call. “The most dramatic shift will occur in cities in northern latitiudes, with their climate in 2005 resembling today’s climate of cities over 1,000km to their south,” they’ve reported. Mit-tagen ghal gon-nar!

The research group have also stated that Europe will experience a few changes. “In Europe specifically, cities will be 3.5°C warmer in summer and 4.7°C in winter. This means that London, for example, will resemble today’s Barcelona, Moscow today’s Sofia, Stockholm today’s Vienna.”

Basically, by 2050, cities all over the world will become hotter, wet seasons will be wetter and dry seasons will be drier. Holy cow!
