Safe once again: Fond Ghadir swimming ban officially lifted
Both popular swimming spots, Qui Si Sana and Fond Ghadir, are now safe to swim in.

Sliema’s Fond Ghadir has, once again, been deemed ‘fit for bathing’ after it was affected by a sewage overflow last month.

On 27th June, a similar ban was lifted off of Qui Si Sana, which was also impacted by a sewage overflow earlier this summer.

These incidents affected water quality in both bays, thus posing a potential risk to bathers’ health. The Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health lifted said bans after conducting repeated sampling of seawater.

For more information about these issues, you can contact the Health Inspectorate Services between 7:30am and 3:30pm on 21337333, send an email on [email protected][email protected], and [email protected], or call personally at its offices at Continental Business Centre, Old Railway Track, Santa Venera.
