Malta's under-17 women's national team have outdone themselves again! In the 2023/24 UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship, the team has emerged as a shining example of determination and skill on the football field. Grouped in B3 and hosted in Croatia, Malta faced formidable opposition, but their performance left a lasting impression.

Under the guidance of Coach Vince Galea, Malta's journey began with a challenging match against the host nation, Croatia, resulting in an 8-0 defeat. However, this setback didn't deter their spirits. In their subsequent clash with Luxembourg, goals from Sara Saliba and Nyorah Celeste secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory, highlighting their tenacity.

Malta's resilience continued in their third game against Azerbaijan. Despite an early setback, they made a remarkable comeback to win 4-1, with Kaysia Micallef levelling the score and Lexine Farrugia netting a brace, while Sara Saliba once again made a vital contribution.

With two wins and one loss, Malta secured the second place in Group B3. Their impressive turnaround from an initial defeat showcased their growth and potential as a team.

Now, Malta awaits the results of other Group B games to determine their promotion fate to League A.

Malta's under-17 women's national team has indeed shone brightly in this year's championship, leaving their mark for all to see.

Well done, girls!
