Record-breaker! Carlo Diacono staff and volunteers build 4-metre gingerbread wonderland in Zejtun
A new national record that's deliciously festive

Francesca Vella

Move over, Santa’s workshop - staff and volunteers at Carlo Diacono School in Żejtun has crafted a magical gingerbread village that’s breaking records and melting hearts! Measuring an impressive 4 metres in length and 2.63 metres in width, this sweet creation is officially the largest mechanised gingerbread village in the Maltese Islands.

Made from a whopping 195 kilos of dough, the village is a festive masterpiece brimming with charm. It features adorable houses, a traditional Maltese church, a cinema, a police station, and even a tiny crib scene!

But the real magic lies in the dedication of the school’s staff and volunteers. These tireless educators didn’t take the summer off - they spent months meticulously designing and preparing for this gingerbread marvel. Their hard work and passion have paid off in the form of a display that brings the spirit of the season to life.

A big well done to everyone involved in this sweet success story!
