Planning a beach-hopping day in Malta and Gozo? Here are some ideas to get you going
Your beach hopping day sorted!

Summer on an island has great benefits, one of which being the seaside is just a short drive (or ferry ride!) away. And if you’re planning on seeing as much as possible, then a beach-hopping day is the best option for you. Here are some ideas to get your planning going.

Northern area

If you’re beach hopping in the north of the island, some of our top picks include: Golden Bay, Gnejna, Ghajn Tuffieha, Anchor Bay and Ghadira Bay. You could also visit Fra Ben, St Paul’s Bay (near Wignacourt Tower) or Tal-Ghazzenin for a chill day on the rocky coast.

Southern area

If you’re heading to the south, then paying a visit to St Peter’s Pool is a must. You can then check out Pretty Bay, Hofriet and Ghar Lapsi – beautiful spots with breath-taking views.

Central

Central pretty much means the Sliema and St Julian’s area, but it’s a great place for a quick swim. There’s Exiles, Font Ghadir, Secret Beach, St George’s Bay and further out of town, there’s also Bahar ic-Caghaq along the coast.

Gozo

Of course, Malta’s sister isle also boasts a number of fantastic beaches to consider if you’re heading for a beach hopping day to Gozo. Following a quick ferry ride, you can head to any one of the glorious bays. Our top picks include San Blas, Hondoq ir-Rummien, Wied il-Ghasri and Dahlet Qorrot.

You could also pick a few from each category and do an entire island beach tour. Happy swimming!
