The pastizzeria recently opened its doors just minutes away from the Colosseum.

A Maltese traveller was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon a familiar sight: ‘Dal Maltese Pastizzeria’, a newly opened eatery in the Italian capital serving up none other than our beloved pastizzi, along with qassatat and even some local Maltese beverages.
Just a short walk away from the Colosseum, this little slice of Malta is quickly turning heads and winning hearts, proving that pastizzi aren’t just for locals anymore!
While traditional favourites like ricotta and pea pastizzi are on the menu, Dal Maltese is also putting a creative twist on things, offering inventive fillings like apple and even Nutella – giving the classic pastry a sweet spin that’s sure to tempt even the most loyal purists.
Dal Maltese’s social media has been sharing fun facts about the snack’s humble origins, noting how pastizzi were first created by poor farmers using only flour, goat’s milk, and a handful of other simple ingredients. Fast forward a few hundred years, and they’re now making their debut on the cobbled streets of Italy’s capital!
Whether you're a homesick Maltese in Rome or simply someone who knows there’s no snack like hot pastizzi (sweet or savoury!), Dal Maltese is definitely one to bookmark on your foodie travel map.
