Open invitation! Heritage Malta offering free guided tours to celebrate Tourist Guide Day this February

In celebration of Tourist Guide Day on Wednesday, the 21st of February, Heritage Malta extends an open invitation to the public for complimentary guided tours at the National Museum of Archaeology and the Tarxien Prehistoric Complex.

This global initiative honours the expertise of tourist guides who shape travellers' experiences worldwide, shedding light on their pivotal role within the tourism industry.

Tourist Guide Day Free Tours Malta

Teaming up with the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), Malta's foremost educational institution for tourism and hospitality, Heritage Malta aims to enhance visitors' experiences at these historical sites.

From 9:30am to 1:30pm, guests purchasing admission tickets will have the opportunity to join guided tours led by ITS tour-guiding students under the guidance of their lecturers.

At the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta, visitors will delve into Malta's rich prehistory and early history, spanning from the Neolithic period to the early Phoenician era.

Meanwhile, the Tarxien Prehistoric Complex transports visitors back to ancient civilization through its imposing entrances, interconnected passages, and captivating prehistoric art depicting spirals and animals.

Tourist Guide Day Free Tours Malta

Tours, available in both Maltese and English, will be conducted hourly on a first-come-first-served basis, without the need for prebooking. It's a chance for locals and tourists alike to immerse themselves in Malta's fascinating heritage while honouring the professionals who bring its stories to life.
