One last September swim? Most of Malta and Gozo’s beaches marked safe for swimming today
Some beaches are still marked as unsafe.

As rainy and cooler autumn weather starts dominating over hot and sunny summer weather, now is the time to get those last few September swims in.

Thankfully, according to Maltese Islands Weather, the majority of Malta’s beaches have been deemed as safe to swim in.

The safe beaches are Mellieħa, Mistra Bay, St. Paul's Bay, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, St. George's Bay, Rinella Bay, Marsaskala, St. Thomas Bay, Ħofriet, Marsaxlokk, Pretty Bay, Wied iż-Żurrieq, Għar Lapsi, Ġnejna Bay, Xwejni Bay, Qbajjar, Marsalforn, Ramla l-Ħamra, Ħondoq ir-Rummien, Mġarr ix-Xini, Xlendi, Dwejra Inland Sea.

However, unfortunately not all of Malta and Gozo’s picturesque beaches have been marked as safe.

‘Maltese Islands Weather’ recommends swimmers to avoid the following beaches, Marfa, Ramla l-Bir, Little Armier, Armier Bay, Imġiebaħ, Qawra, Sliema, Fomm ir-Riħ, Għajn Tuffieħa, Golden Bay, Anchor Bay, Paradise Bay, Wied il-Għasri, San Blas Bay, Daħlet Qorrot and Dwejra.

The list is based on which beaches are likely going to be free from jellyfish and rough currents.

It might change throughout the day so make sure to keep an eye out for what beaches are marked as safe or not through here.
