‘Ġnien iż-Żgħażagħ’ officially opens! Neglected area transformed into a new open space for the Gudja community
Gudja residents will now be able to visit a new garden within their community following works carried out by Project Green at Ġnien iż-Żgħażagħ.
The 1,100 square metre run down and neglected space has officially been turned in a garden for all to enjoy.

The garden was given a new lease on life thanks through the regeneration works carried out on it by utilising sustainable materials. This will further ensure accessibility for all visitors.
Ġnien iż-Żgħażagħ underwent a number of upgrades including the installation of accessible picnic benches, all made from sustainable materials.

The area has also been secured with high wooden fencing while the new pathway was designed using a geogrid to stabilise the soil. This was done to still provide an accessible pathway while also retaining the natural elements of the ground.
Through this regeneration project, more trees were added to provide better air quality, since there is a main road nearby that thousands of cars pass through on a daily basis.
