Nature’s guardians! 15-year-old injured gull saved by Malta Ranger Unit in Qawra
The incident happened on World Ocean Day 2024

Francesca Vella

The Malta Ranger Unit, responsible for reporting and documenting environmental crimes, rescued a 15-year-old injured gull near Ta’ Fra Ben beach in Qawra.

A member of the public raised the alarm to a nearby Ranger, who kept the gull safe until the Environmental Protection Unit (EPU) Police could come onto the scene.

The bird had evident injuries and will be undergoing an x-ray to determine the cause of injury and possibility of cure.

Hoping for the gull’s speedy recovery!
