The autumn festival with so much to offer.
Notte Bianca will take place on Saturday 6th October this year, and is sure to show art and culture lovers, avid foodies and entertainment seekers the time of their life! As you walk through the streets of Valletta, you’ll notice the city come to life; not only because of the vibrant activities set up, but also by the swarms of people who head to the capital for an evening of wonder - will you be among them?
Get ready for local and international expos of art, music, dance, film and theatre - all presented to the public at no cost! This free admission event is popular amongst locals and visitors who have a keen eye for local culture. Valletta museums, buildings of interest and art galleries are also open free of charge for this evening, and keep their doors open till late. Needless to say, cafés, restaurants and pubs keep their kitchens and bars open until the crowds dwindle.
Once you’ve finished your tour of the upper quarters of the capital, hop on the specially setup train running to and from the central area of Valletta and the Lower Barrakka Gardens, which will run for the duration of the event.
Down at the Lower Barrakka, you’ll find pop-up performances by Holm Butik, a special film screening, a number of workshops run by Orfeo & Majnun as well as Il-Festa z-Zghira (the little feast) where the themes of love, loss and longing will be explored under the Valletta 2018 art programme.
The five stages set up across the central part of Valletta will host six headliners including Emma Muscat, no snow/no alps and Tenishia, so make your way to St George’s Square for some of the biggest acts of the night!
If you’re looking for something different, head to The Gut, Strait Street where six show girls will taunt passengers as they unsteadily make their way through the narrow streets. Enjoy the Charleston jazz dance performance planned for the night and join the 'sailors' for a cold beer and a couple of cheeky laughs. - we won't tell if you don't!
