Music without instruments: Bodyterranean comes to Teatru Manoel in Valletta
The artists use only their bodies and voices to create their soundtrack

Tim Diacono

For two nights only, the Teatru Manoel will host a dynamic performance that has been described as the creation of “music without instruments”.

Bodyterranean will combine traditional Greek and Southern Italian songs with body percussion and choreography, using only their bodies and voices only to create a soundtrack.

Led by Simone Mongelli, it features an ensemble of Greek and Italian dancers along with local vocalists Doreen Galea and Mariele Żammit.

They will tell stories of joys and sorrows, love, exile, motherhood, and diversity in a manner that is intended to erase differences and cry out for equality and peace.

You can watch them at Teatru Manoel on 7th and 8th February at 7:30pm, and tickets are available here.
