Music on the streets! Malta welcomes its first touring entertainment van with lVANt
This project aims toward making the arts more accessible and engaging to everyone

In the past week, you may have spotted a band or artist performing out of the side of a van – this wasn’t a mirage! In the first project of its nature, the cleverly named ‘lVANt’ is a touring festival that consists of artists popping up around the eastern region of the island, bringing artistic and cultural acts out of a van to 12 localities in the east of Malta, between the 3rd and 23rd of July.

The four weeks of entertainment feature largely musical artists, including The Travellers, Subversive Collection, Skald, Krista Sujak, Reb and Jon, David Cauchi, Klinsmann, Chanel Monseigneur, Keith Kiko, Liam Mizzi Peplow, Gilbert Gauci, Lyndsay Pace, Tal-Fuklar Folk Group, and Red Electric.

Those in the mood for a laugh can look forward to the additional entertainment provided by the hosts of the tour itself – comedians Carlos Debattista and Matthew Sant Sultana.

The tour will also involve an outreach program in collaboration with Villa Bianca, held in Gharghur on Sunday 21st July, which aims towards bringing music (and the happiness it can create) to children with disabilities.

The scope of ‘lVANt’ is to bring arts closer to the public, making it accessible to everyone. It is being organised by the Kunsill Regjonali Lvant, a project which aims to foster a sense of community and appreciation for local talent, while making it free for everyone to enjoy.

For more information and to keep up to date on when lVANt will be coming to a locality near you, visit the Eastern Region of Culture Facebook page or website.

Look out for the touring entertainment van!
