This project is being executed as part of Malta Tourism Authority’s beach maintenance program

Francesca Vella

The Malta Tourism Authority has announced that in coming days, Buġibba Perched Beach (St Paul’s Bay) and St George’s Bay (St Julian’s) will be having their sand replenished.

To ensure safety in the surrounding areas, the roads adjacent to these beaches being used to unload the sand will be closed off to traffic while the operation is taking place. This is planned for Wednesday 12th June on part of the road Dawret il-Gżejjer, for the replenishment of Buġibba Perched Beach. On Monday 17th June, Triq ix-Xatt ta’ San Ġorġ will be closed for the operation occurring at St George’s Bay. It is expected that works will continue throughout the night.

The public will be kept updated of any changes to these dates. Anyone seeking any further information is encouraged to contact the Malta Tourism Authority via phone number 22915000.
