Make way for Mnarja festivities! The Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights has just announced the oldest traditional and folkloristic event in Malta, the Mnarja, which is locally celebrated on the 29th of June.

The organised event will take place between the 24th and the 29th of June at Buskett. From various friendly animal competitions to multiple parades, a jam-packed calendar of events has been carefully planned out to attract all.

All of these events are aimed at promoting Malta’s agriculture scene as well as local produce. In fact, a number of exhibitions will be taking place at the event including a fruit and vegetables exhibition and an exhibition and competition of fancy poultry, rabbits, and a variety of breeds of birds and dogs.

And don’t worry music lovers, there will also be a main stage featuring the traditional ghana, and folk dancing, among other entertainment. Apart from the main stage, there will also be various re-enactments and strolling folk musicians around Buskett and a traditional Maltese games area for both adults and children to enjoy and participate in.

Visitors can also experience a Maltese traditional fair in which one can taste and enjoy traditional food and sweets.

Will you be attending the Mnarja events?
