What a restoration! Facebook page RECOOP has just revealed the meticulous conservation and restoration efforts at their lab of the stunning interior of St John's Co-Cathedral, as depicted by Egidio Tonti, a renowned artist who visited Malta in the early 20th century.

Egidio Tonti's tapestry masterpiece, believed to have been painted sometime in June between the feasts of Corpus Christi and St John the Baptist, captures the cathedral's spiritual essence with remarkable detail.

Amidst the opulent tapestries and intricate designs, a transcendent ray of light pierces through, illuminating the golden haze and touching the hearts of devoted pilgrims.

The artist's portrayal of these intricate tapestries showcases the grandeur of the cathedral while also evoking a sense of awe and admiration, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the sacred atmosphere of this historic landmark.
