What an incredible talent!

Renowned cathedral stonemason, Charlie Gee, has mesmerised his 745K Instagram audience with a stunning display of craftsmanship, featuring Maltese limestone.

In a recent Instagram reel, Charlie showcased his skilful artistry as he carved the iconic Maltese lion—a symbol commonly found in stone sculptures adorning the streets of Valletta, traditional door knockers and, most iconically, standing proudly on the Vilhena Fountain, also known as the Lion Fountain, located in St Anne Square in Floriana.

The video, which was posted two days ago, got 28K likes and 492K views on Instagram. The reel not only highlights the artist’s talent but also brings attention to the unique beauty of Maltese limestone, a material deeply embedded in our island's architectural heritage.

With precision and dedication, Charlie transforms the raw stone into a stunning representation of Maltese culture.

Thank you, Charlie Gee, for shining the spotlight on our Maltese limestone.
