The Phoenicia Hotel in Floriana is home to Marco Arcidiacono’s latest exhibition, ‘Nostalgia’, which depicts some of the most essential elements of being in Malta and the Mediterranean; the island’s coast, village squares and the fishing tradition.

As the name of the exhibition suggests, the works embody a sense of Maltese summers from the past, including the characteristic Maltese village church in the background, foregrounded by scenes of the sea.

Aside from places around the island, the artist is vastly interested in the people inhabiting those places, depicting local figures going about their daily lives.

‘Nostalgia’ is open throughout June at the Palm Court Lounge in The Phoenicia Malta, and is curated by Dr. Charlene Vella.
