The show highlights the wide variety of experiences of the Mediterranean archipelago around Malta, Gozo and Comino – whether cultural sightseeing, sporting activities or culinary delights.

It includes among others visits to various film locations, a traditional bakery, Xaqqa Valley, Ggantija Temples, Xwejni Salt Pans as well as Victory Day festivities.

‘Wunderschön (Wonderful) has been presenting cities, regions and areas of Europe and of the whole world for more than 15 years.

It is only a 90-minute travel show on German television and therefore it is a perfect opportunity to capture the diversity of Malta. ‘Wunderschön enjoys the Sunday evening prime time slot of 8:15pm for viewing on WDR. The programs are also available for viewing for quite some time on other channels and on the internet after they first aired on television.

The Maltese episode has granted Malta a spot on large-scale and TV exposure in Germany. The country is already in the top four source markets of tourism to Malta. In fact, in the first eight months of the year, 135,254 German tourists travelled to the Maltese Islands.
