Malta’s Union of Band Clubs calls for ‘prudence and maturity’ at feast celebrations
A number of new COVID-19 cases have been linked to feast celebrations in recent days.

Barely two weeks have passed since the reinstatement of popular band marches during village feast celebrations, following mounting pressure from festa enthusiasts and consistent low numbers of COVID-19 cases on the islands. But a lot can change in two weeks, and with a number of new cases linked to festa celebrations in recent days, the Ghaqda Kazini tal-Banda has spoken out.

In a statement directed to band club enthusiasts and feast goers, they called for prudence and maturity when it comes to the organisation of celebrations, beseeching the community to not put the work of the health authorities at risk.

“This is a particular year, and because of this, our feast celebrations should reflect the time,” they wrote.
