The Ministry for Gozo has shared the exciting news that the Olympic-sized pool that has been under construction as part of the Aquatic and Sports Centre in Rabat, Gozo is being filled with water and will soon be ready for use! The pool is 50 metres in length and 25 metres in width, with a depth between 2.2 and 3 metres. 

Aside from the pool, the sports centre will offer facilities for various ball sports, including basketball, volleyball, netball, badminton, handball, padel and squash. There is also a hall where gymnastics, dance, table tennis and martial arts can be practised.

This will definitely be music to the ears of any swimmers in Gozo who require a pool to train in, as the only other pool of this size on the islands can be found at the Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex, just next to the University of Malta.
