Making a splash! Malta to host European Aquatics Junior Artistic Swimming Championships this week
The event will gather 175 artistic swimmers from 24 nations all over Europe

Francesca Vella

Malta has recently taken centre stage as a host in swimming events, having just held the Under-16 Men’s Water Polo Championships, and proceeding to host the European Aquatics Junior Artistic Swimming Championships between 28th June and 2nd July, after having hosted the Artistic Swimming Open National Championships in April earlier this year.

The event will see 175 artistic swimmers between 15 and 19 years old (20 for male athletes) from 24 Member Federations, competing in 11 events in the newly inaugurated Olympic-sized indoor pool in the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Many of these young athletes are fresh from competing in the European Aquatics Championships Belgrade 2024, with a mix of returning champions and rising stars, promising an intense competition.

The action can be followed in person at the Cottonera Sports Complex, or live on European Aquatics TV, starting this Friday at 10am with the Women’s Solo Free Preliminaries, followed by the Team Technical Final at 5pm.

Will you be following the championships?

26th June 2024
