A recent Facebook post has surfaced on the public group MALTA, showing large amounts of rubbish dumped behind the lovely Ghadira Bay. According to the post, the area is around 20,000sqm large, and is ‘right next to a Natura 2000 site’.

The photos attached to the post reveal large amounts of ‘glass, plastic, metal’ and even ‘building material’ littering the natural area. According to the post, there are even items that go back to the 1960s and 70s…Yikes!

Many people in the comments have communicated their anger and disappointment, questioning why the place has not been reported or cleaned up yet

Calling out for a much needed clean up, the post suggests that it would likely take a group of at least 20 to 30 volunteers, and months of work, to recover the natural land underneath.
