Kinnie, Malta’s beloved soft drink, has officially made its debut in Ghana, marking the brand’s first production venture in West Africa. This milestone represents a major step in expanding Kinnie’s global footprint, bringing its unique, bittersweet flavour to a new and dynamic market.

The launch comes through a strategic franchise partnership with Acadia Industries, a respected Ghanaian company in the FMCG sector. The collaboration ensures that Kinnie is produced locally in Ghana using the same signature recipe and high-quality standards that have defined the brand since its inception.

Michael Farrugia, Deputy CEO (Beverage Business) at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, described the move as more than just a market expansion. ‘This launch is about forging a long-term partnership, building local capability, and sharing a piece of Maltese heritage with West Africa,’ he said.

Ghana’s appeal was also highlighted since its growing beverage market, openness to herbal-infused drinks, and strong consumer base are key reasons for choosing it as Kinnie’s first African production hub.

Fouad Moufarrej, Managing Director of Acadia Industries, expressed excitement about the collaboration. ‘This fusion of Mediterranean tradition with African energy offers something unique for Ghanaian consumers,’ he noted.

With its distinctive taste and versatility as both a standalone refreshment and mixer, Kinnie is set to appeal to a wide range of palates.
