Italy’s former goalkeeper Federico Marchetti officially signs with local Maltese football club
The news comes after Henry Bonello injured the palm of his hand.

The former goalkeeper for Italy national team, Federico Marchetti has officially been announced as Hamrun Spartans goalkeeper for the upcoming season.

“Federico Marchetti will be the latest addition in the Spartans squad”, the Hamrun club announced on their social media.

He has signed a one-year deal with the Spartans after previously playing for the Italian team, La Spezia.

The star goalkeeper also played for the Italian national team from 2009 to 2016, having appeared in 11 games.

Hamrun’s current goal-keeper, Henry Bonello is set to miss quite a few games after having injured the palm of his hand during Malta’s game against Ukraine. Federico is set to replace him in the meantime.
