It's official! Malta's Neil Agius holds world record for the longest, unassisted, current-neutral ocean swim
The new swimming distance to beat is 142.3 kilometres!

Following the excitement surrounding Neil Agius's world-record attempt at the end of September, it has now been confirmed that the ultra-distance swimmer officially set a new world record, completing an astonishing 142.3 km swim in 60 hours, 35 minutes, and 4 seconds. He began at Mellieha Bay and finished at Ghar Lapsi on September 23rd.

Neil Agius took to social media to thank his team ‘for supporting me throughout this journey and working tirelessly to ensure that all documents were handed to the World Open Water Swimming Association’. He also expressed gratitude to the association for ratifying the swim and giving it the attention it deserved.
