Incredible! This beautiful vintage shot of Floriana’s Porte des Bombes is ultra nostalgic
Wow!

Jillian Mallia

Have you ever seen Floriana like this? The photo pictures a stunning bird’s eye view of Triq Sant’Anna in Floriana, with the magnificent Porte des Bombes in the distance.

The photo was shared to a popular, public history group on Facebook, that brought back quite the memories for some locals. Malta’s very first buses even feature in the shot. The local who posted also noted that it was a time when the Maltese transport system began adding more and more destinations to their routes. There’s even an old bus stop sign on the right hand side.

Thankfully, not much has changed in the surroundings, with the between avenue trees still present to this day.
